EOS 100 Command Dial

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I have lost all functions from the command dial. To turn off the camera I have to take the battery out. It feels like the mechanism has broken. Can anyone please tell me the method to remove the command dial as I do not want to force it, and maybe create further damage

Sigh. This happens frequently to A2/5 owners as well. Search the forum for more information on broken command dials. You have three basic options:

- Get Canon to fix it. It may break again.

- Get Horizon Electronics to fix it properly for you.

- You may be able to repair it yourself, depending on the damage. There's information on this forum that explains how.

Oh, one more thing. If you do decide to try and fix it yourself, do NOT remove the screw on the side of the popup flash unit. If you do you'll probably roundly screw it up. I speak from experience.
