Anyone know about Shaws laminate flooring?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We have/and are installing Shaws laminate flooring in our house. It says in the installation instructions that the glue can be cleaned with their(Shaws) floor cleaner or vinegar and water. I chose to use the vinegar and water. It also said to buff. I am wondering if I have to buff from not til forever or is this just for cleaning the glue up. I washed it twice this afternoon and still think there is a slight film on it. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much...

Sher, I have WilsonArt laminate, I assume they're similiar. I always mop mine with bleach water. The glue was hard to get up. My floors are 3 years old now, and I love them. When we initially put the floor down, I went behind my hubby with a warm wet rag and wiped the glue up as we went. What I missed took about a YEAR to finally come off...but I confess I didn't work at it much, as it wasn't very noticable. Mine aren't supposed to be wiped with anything but water, but heck we live on a farm, I use bleach water and they still look great!

Thanks CJ...I thought it was just me! My back is out this morning and I am thinking..heck it does not have to be perfect now..it may well take me a year or so to get it up!! Thanks again for your reply..it really did ease my mind. I think I too will love it after all is said and done!
