This is going to sound weird

I just finished it, it was a hamburger, onion, garlic, and a can of spicy chile beans with sharp cheddar. The brew was getting dry, I was out of bottled water (which I refill at a local spring in that the water here is not drinkable) so I dumped in a dose of coke cola in place of water. This shall become my normal method of making chile due to unique taste, try it, it will bite your behind!!

Oh, Mitch, my behind allready has had enough abuse this week!

I have heard of peope using Coke for cooking-you asked about unusual Crock pot ingrediants and I seem to recall one for a pot roast cooked with a Coke merinade.... havn't tried it though.

Coke ought to tenderize the meat in anything.

Good mornin Mitch! I use coke in chilli too. My hubby loves Steak n Shake chilli, so I thought I'd get on the web and get one of those copycat recipes. The recipe I found had coke in it and also cocoa. Needless to say when I was putting the chilli together, I was thinking that this concoction wouldn't be fit to eat. It was delicious! I make it this way everytime now. See, they can teach us old dogs new tricks!

I've never heard of cooking with coke but I can remember my Gramma roasting a ham with ginger ale. And we've also used ginger ale or 7- up as ingredients in a marinade for chicken.

I put both Coke and peanut butter in my chili so your idea doesn't sound strange at all.
