looking for fireplace bellows patterngreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
Hi...I'm looking for a pattern and instructions for making a pair of good sized fireplace bellow. Did a web search and came up with nil. Anyone made them before? Thanks!

Michelle, I have never tried to make a fireplace bellows, but I do remember actually seeing a pattern in a book about Colonial furniture, household appliances, and other tools. I can't begin to remember the name of it, but I checked it out from the library, so it can't have been too obscure. Keep digging and I'm sure you'll turn it up.

Might try looking at woodworking sites like THE WOODWRIGHT'S SHOP, they had a plan some time back.

Borrow any politician....*grin*What you could also do is use a very slender pipe (say 1/4" in diameter) about 8-12" long or so, and that way you could blow directly where you want to, and concentrate the air where you want it. Very useful for campfires as well.

Thanks for all the responses! I can't wait to get started on building a pair so I don't have to blow on the darn fire anymore! :-)
