HELP! Need Work.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : What keeps you up at night? : One Thread

I am a 28 year old husband and father of 4 ex-soldier. In December of 2000 I was released from service with the U.S. Army after serving 4 years and I am stuck in this military town in Texas. My question is, am I missing something? My chosen career feild is voice/data cabling within the telecommunications feild. I love this work, but can't get the job with any company in this town because I don't have experience with certin types of phone equipment. No one wants to train a new hire even if that new hire has experience and knowldge of that indistry.

I have even started doing research on starting my own business of home automation cabling. In my area I feel that it would do good. I do need fiancing, but I don't have any colatral, and my business has NOT been running.

I'm just at a loss as to what do at this point. Which path to take. Get that minamum wage job at that local burger joint and suplement with govenment aid?

Any responce will be greatly helpful and appericated.

Hi steve: Why do you have to stick to Texas? Cant you move out? I believe there are quite a few colleges in Texas: since youre from the army, I believe you will be able to impart instructions well.. You could also try another alternate career..
