TMPGE MPEG2 30 Day Timeout

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi, I'm using TMPGE to encode to SVCD format - ie MPEG2. The TMPGE program informs me the MPEG2 encode will only work for 30 days due to licensing restrictions, but the TMPGE web site says I can't buy the program anyway. Does anybody know what I'm supposed to do when the MPEG2 encode stops working? Steve

try this from the web

1. Copy this string (it is a registry entry) REGEDIT4 [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{63902277-B101-4049-8B46- C24B67E155E5}] "AppID"="{00185510-2F5C-5B90-0E40- 000816334557}" 2. Open up Notepad, Edit> Paste. 3. File> Save As. Change the 2nd dropdown menu (it is defaulted to ASCII text),to "all files". Name it "30 Day crack.reg" (no parenthisis) or something similar. 4. Double click the new file or Right click and select merge. Hit yes for the confirmatin box.5. Enjoy 30 more days of MPEG2 encoding bliss.

I found out tonight there are two TMPGenc web sites, one at .com and one at .net The latter, eg, has version 2.5 of the encoder, and the former has only version 2.02. So maybe .net has an answer for you.

I just set the clock on my computer back to the date I installed the program and I get another 30 days.

Use this handy little add on program. It's a loader for tmpge which gets around the 30 day trial. http://www.softdeko.8m.com/video_encoder2.htm

Hi, I was wondering if this crack works for TMPGEnc v.2.57.41.146? (the latest version), since the crack was written for an earlier version. Also, I am using Windows Me. Will the crack work for this Operating System? After installing TMPGEnc (but before installing the crack) I looked in the registry for a folder labelled HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID... but it does not exist. Many thanks if anyone can help. James

I have read that if you change your system date to a future date ( way in the future) then the 30 days wont expire until it hits 30 days after the system reaches 30 days past that date. so change your system date for 2 years ahead , install software, then change system back to current- viola you get it for 2 years and 30 days.

I says "Serial incorrect" for me :(

I've noticed the Norton System Works registry scan and repair removes the entry in the registry, resetting the 30 day count every time it runs

If you get "incorrect serial number", be SURE you have tmpgenc "plus" version, AND that it is the correct version # mentioned in this post.

The "latest" versions at the tmpgenc website are newer, and probably dont support this serial # listed. Get the slightly older one (try kazaalite searching)
