herd management software??

Does anyone know of any freeware for herd management?

I simply need to be able to have a file for each cow, her calving dates, vaccination dates, etc etc.

Would like something with the categories in it so I don't have to create this myself in Excel or something like that.

Thanks

I know that Penn State University Extension has Least-cost ration software and Nutrient formulation software. I suspect you could find more generalized software via your local extension office. If not, contact the closest land grant institution and they should have it.

Here is a link to the Maryland Small Ruminant Page list of software. There is one that you can download for freeware but you won't be able to print reports. http://www.sheepandgoat.com/software.html

I purchased the Animal Trac for Windows software that was advertised in some goat publications. It's very good for printing out the pedigrees but I really don't like how it budgets or does herd health management. I don't know-maybe I'm just not doing it all right, but I'm having good luck with an Excel spreadsheet for my daily management checklist. I'm curious as to what others have been using. I'll probably wind up with a combination of a few different styles. Rose, thanks for this topic.
