Thanks JS I love to hear stories about the depression, the frugal triumphs and overcoming adversity. It helps us all to face bad times with a more determined outlook....Any more sites with stories...?

I can remember my grandfather going on and on about the great depression and how hard it was. He used to fix corn meal gravy and make me eat it. I'll check out that cookbook surely there were some good things to eat during that time.
