Looking for a small wood stove grate

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I purchased a small wood stove and find it is hard to keep a fire going on the fire stones alone. Would like to find a small grate. The inside is 16" deep and 15 1/2" wide. Any suggestions?

A woodstove should always have about an inch of ash in the bottom. This bed of ash will help the fire burn, protect the bottom of the stove from premature burnout and allow you to "bank" the coals at night. --Happy trails, Cabin Fever
