We are a department of 15 females and 3 males. Our boss is a female, and her boss is a female. Anyone have any good reading material -- magazines or books -- regarding the "dominant female syndrome" (my term)? DFS manifests itself in the following ways: a) I got here on my own; don't ask me for help up the ladder; b) If a male can do it at all, he will be promoted before a woman who can do it better; c) Don't tell me I'm anti-female; my boss is a female and she promoted me; d) As soon as a female seems to be ready for a promotion, she is fired or placed on probation (perhaps because she is viewed as a threat????) Seems like a lot of "little girl stuff" to me, but I would really like to learn how to understand it better in order to survive in this jungle ... I like my co-workers; we all hate the boss(es).
