Use of infrared film on EOS 5

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I have an EOS 5, an I would like to experiment with infrared film. But, as the camera uses an IR sensor to count the film lenght, the manual of the camera says that this film should not be used.

I have tested the Ilford SFX 200 (a bit sensible to the near IR), and no problem has appeared. Could somebody guide me in about which infrared films can be used (in B&W and also colour) to obtain satisfactory results regarding to infrared effects and, at the same time, not contaminating noticeably the film with IR light from the camera sensor?

Thank you.
