Good Blender Drinks

My Mom gave me a blender for Christmas, and I want to make some nutritious drinks. Does anyone have any ideas or recipes to share? I am on a quest to turn this tired old body into a work of art!!! Don't know what kind of art though...Ha Ha!

Nutritious, not alcoholic, but things made with fruit, yogurt, etc...

Hi Melissa, These mixtures usually taste better when the weather is warmer, but they're fast for breakfast anytime of the year. You can even mix them up the night before, put it in the fridge and whip it quick in the morning.

All recipes call for 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup yogurt

Add to that either:

1/2 chopped apple, 1 t maple syrup, dash cinnamon OR

1/4 c chopped apricots or peaches, 1 t maple syprup, dash nutmeg OR

1 med banana, 1 t honey, dash of orange peel OR

1/c c chopped papaya, 1 t honey, dash orange peel OR

1/c c chopped melon, 1 t honey, dash lemon or lime juice OR

1/2 c chopped pineapple, 1 t honey, dash lemon juice OR

1/2 c chopped pears, 1 t honey, 1 drop mint extract OR

1/2 c prune juice, 1 t honey, dash lemon peel OR

1/2 c orange juice, 1 t maple syrup, 1 drop vanilla extract

Melissa, I've tried most of them, and they're pretty good, but you're on your own with the prune juice:)

I don't mind prune juice, but truly mixing it with milk (which is not my favorite beverage) does make me pause!

I used to work at a fruit smoothie bar. We didn't use sugar. You can pretty much use any kind of fruit. Strawberry banana is my favorite. Make sure you use a little juice to make the ice grind better, papaya banana, coconutjuice, strawberries. Ice cold watermelon juice in the summer is delicious. pineapple orange banana juice. I like anything but kiwi, the seeds make the drink bitter. Carrot juice mixed with orange juice is some peoples favorite. I could go on all day with different combinations.
