Can and how would I safely use it on the coats of my dogs and cats to control fleas? Thank you.

Hi, Susan! When I see my cats scratching, I just rub some d.e. into their fur - seems to do the trick. Also, I sprinkle some on the carpet and onto chairs, etc. where they like to curl up. Most chairs, couch, etc. I keep covered with an old sheet or towels, so then I just toss it into the washing machine. I vacuum up the d.e. after a couple of days. Don't know if I'm doing it "right" or not, but seems to work. Good Luck!

Yep, Bonnie, you're doing it right! I've also found that since I've been feeding the dogs the food grade DE that they no longer get fleas.
