Need Help!

Hi

I own a Canon Rebel 2000 with 28-80mm and 75-300mm. I am planning to tradeoff these lenses and get 28-105mm lens with 50mm/1.8. Any suggestions from any one can help me taking a decision. I want to do it as early as possible. Please reply soon!

Regards Sharath

Umm,whats the question? You're making a good choice dropping the weak 28-80 lens and getting the 28-105 and 50 as they are both good lenses (I own them too). I'd keep the 75-300 though if you can afford it. Without it you don't have much zoom range. Of course if you never use your 75-300 you maybe don't need it.

Try bhphotovideo.com for buying your new lenses and maybe ebay for selling the old.

I agree with Marcus. Try to keep the 75-300mm if you can. the 28- 105mm would be good also. If you can afford it, you could find a slightly used 28-135mm lens with Image Stabilization to help with your low light situations. I 50mm lens is a good lens for snapshots anywhere. I have a 50mm f/1.4. It's a bit faster that the 1.8 and it's made out of metal instead of plastic. I would suggest possibly not getting the 50mm and using the $ to get a offcamera flash (ex.Speedlite 220ex or better). Lighting is probably the most important thing for good photos. I hope this helps
