tooooo....slow!!!

Hi, I have a problem to play fast. what can I do? It seems impossible for me to play 6/8 time with MM=96. pls help! thanks!

When ever anything seems too hard.... break it down until it is easy. So in this case. try the following. take the passage which is probably groups of 6 notes at a time and play it in this rhythm , 1 + 2 3 4 5, 1+ 2 3 4 5. So you are slowing all the notes down except for the first two which are played at the desired speed. Tkhen do the same for the 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th.

1 2+ 3 4 5

1 2 3+ 4 5

1 2 3 4+5

1 2 3 4 5+

and now play it at the doubled speed. We call this process "doubling".

You can also outline the passage playing only the notes that fall on beat one and 4 or one three and five depending on the subdivision. Then you can gradually fill in different parts of the beat. the oultine is in tempo.

so you are going fast but not fast all at once.

These two ideas work for me.
