What do you want for Christmas in the goat line?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Dairygoats : One Thread

I'm asking for a steel tub that my does love to snooze in during nice warm days. Also castrating bands and a dehorning iron. Sorry, but for this goat girl, diamonds aren't on the list!

I would like Vickies goat knowledge, but since I see very little chance of that happening by Christmas I hope that my Nubian that is due to kid in early Jan surprises me with kids Christmas morning. If this happens then I'm sure I will have questions and then maybe Vicki will share a little more of her knowledge with me:-)

I asked hubby for a new castrator and bands. He bought it, but refused to put it under the tree. He's afraid someone will ask him what he got his wife for Christmas. lol

I would love to have 8, 16 foot cattle pannels and some new hoof clippers. Might as well throw in a 4x6 rubber mat to be used on the cement in the milk room. (The girls slide on the cement when their little hoofs are wet.)

I wanted a new goat, and I already have it. My hubby got me my first Buck, he is such a good boy. I love him.

I'd love to find a milker in the barn on Christmas morning. A saanen, La Mancha or a nubian preferably but I sure wouldn't turn down an alpine or togg. Gloria

All I want for Christmas is a milking machine! And God being as good to me as he always is, found me someone, who I already knew of, but didn't know she sold milking machines! So Vicki will have a milking machine in January! Everyone will be dry then, but they will start kidding by March.

What a nice thing to say George! Even I have mentors I call on when I have no answers! Joyce of saanendoah.com is one, I call her the goat lady, she calls me the worm lady, she has no use for my information since they don't worm like we do in her part of the US :) Bernice is a whiz about finding anything I need on the internet! Tim Pruitt of Pruitville Nubians is my AI man! And my vet, she is invaluable to me in a pinch! Vicki

My husband came home from the feed store with a 50# bag of peanuts in the shell!!! I have a new milk scale on my christmas wish list. We're going on test for the first time next year, and the antique scale that I've been using just won't measure up. (Pun intended) My mother always renews my subscriptions to Dairy Goat Journal and United Caprine News for me. That's a great gift.

A new milking stand. I have a good sturdy one but it is made out of solid wood and is unsanitary. A local goat friends husband has a welding shop and he going to make me a steel one with the mesh on the bottom. I wish santa would bring me some clippers but I just as well wish on.

I have been wanting to reply to this all week, but with my work schedule this past week I have been so busy and tired i didn't ahve a chance til now. I too wish I had the wisdom that Vicki has, and thanks Vicki about the Whiz for info compliment:):)

But mainly what i would like for Christmas is the hope of a great doeish kidding season, the girls I have buck reserves on to ahve bucks, and all my babies to be healthy. My milkers to milk lots of milk for the dairy (we ship) and for the new milking parlor to work once w efinish installing it.

I also wish for all my goat friends to have a great and blessed Christmas and kidding season.
