I have recently been contacted by the coventry regarding a debt off nearly £22,000 from over 6 years ago, I wondered if anyone has had dealings with them and could offer me some advice on what offer to make (if any) etc. THanks

I would make no offer at all. If the debt is from over 6 years ago and this is the first contact then they are out of time. The Council of Mortgage Lenders sadi that from 11/2/2000 anyone where contact had not been made would only then be asked for payment for up to six years.

I would simply write back and ask why the Coventry is not adhering to this agreement.
