Help With Old Record Artists ????

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

This is totally off the Countryside subjects but I am hoping that someone can help me with this anyway. Could someone tell me if it was the Mills Brothers that sang Daddy's Little Girl song ...in the 1940-50's ???? Would like to get a copy of the record and turn it into a Christmas present for our daughter. Have more ideas than money this year. Looked on E-bay but didn't turn anything up. Any Help would be appreciated !! Thank You !!

At Amazon there's a number of CD's listed that have Daddy's Little Girl on it but the one Titled "Paper Doll" was the cheapest I saw at $6.97. The songs listed further down are the ones on the CD.

I also found a single 45 for $2.50 at http://www.oldies.com/product/index.cfm/id/900737.html

If that address doesn't work I put "mills brother, daddy's little girl" in the google.com search engine and found Collectible records, etc. Good luck!

1. Lazy River 2. You Always Hurt The One You Love 3. Paper Doll 4. I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm 5. Glow Worm 6. Till We Meet Again 7. If I Had My Way 8. On The Banks of the Wabash 9. When You Were Sweet Sixteen 10. Daddy's Little Girl

Helena, I know a guy who sings it at almost every wedding. He may have a copy or know where to get it. Try www.LittleGiant@In4web.com and see if he can help you. To add to your gift to your daughter perhaps you could go to www.letssingit.com and get the lyrics printed out and put them in a decorated picture frame. Goodluck, Sandi
