What are the differences between Rebel XS and Rebel 2000 cameras? Is the picture quality similar with both? Which is easier to use for an ameture photographer?

The XS is two versions older. There are differences. The 2000 has seven autofocusing points instead of three and they are faster as well. The 2000 has a method for depth of field preview, it's smaller, has a faster motor drive, uses smaller batteries.

The picture quality is determined by the lens you mount on it, not the camera. They are both fairly easy to use. The 2000 has a few more features but is probably a wee bit easier to operate.
