SCSI target error

Hi,

I really need some help!!! I copy VCD(movie) to CDR(Duraplus; 1x-24x) last night but i failed again. The CD-ROm completed read but when CDR-W started to burn until 2% the message show :- " CDRW9600NT-B SCSI Target error Burn process failed at 8 x (1,200KB/S) "

My CDR-W model:- Iomega 24x10x40 Software:- Nero 5.5.5.6 My PC:- Pentium 4 (128KB)

Sometime i burned VCD to CDR-W(1-4x) is sucessful and completed, but how come sometime the process is failed?

Kindly to look for this matter and try to help me as soon as possible. i appreciate your help. Thank you very much

Try burning at a lower speed like 4X or less. Probably what is happening is that your CD burner is ready for data and the system doesn't have any to give it, so the burner fails with an error. The only solution to this is to burn at lower speeds. If I'm right, CD-RW is working because 4X is slow enough that the CD burner never runs out of data. We have a similar problem at work with a Plextor burner. I've learned not to ever burn at 8X speed. Too many coasters. 4X almost never fails. TDK burners have technology built into them where the burner does some buffering and they almost never run out of data. I'm amazed that other manufacturers have not adopted this idea, but most have not.
