Moron named Lynnie over at timebumb - waiting for the end...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Open Discussion Board : One Thread

The gomers over at Timebomb are all a twitter over Thursday - a new possible "end time" date. Someone needs to give these people a good collective smack.

"Well, its the last day of Ramadan, and the solar eclipse which supposedly they think empowers them. I figure I'll get extra bananas and apples and lettuce and milk.....I think I'm set for everything else.

Anybody else doing extra shopping in case the 14th is the big day?"

Hey!!! Prepping be good! It gave me an excuse to buy a ton of toys that wifey would not have let me buy otherwise! :-) Example: She just let me buy a 60 GiG hard, External CD-RW, 19" monitor, optical mouse, and a partridge in a pear tree. She said no to the P4 1.5 DVD CD-RW, but hey it's her $! :-) Add all of the last years "Preps" to the Y2k crap I got away with and I be a happy camper! And NO! You can't have my stuff! To bad, so Sad!

I know that when I think about the dangers of mass destruction from biological or nuclear weapons, the first thought that comes to my mind is to buy some bananas and apples and lettuce and milk. Oh my.

You may scoff, but they will be the ones ripping the .45 out of your cold dead fingers.

This John Walker imbecile didn't help. By trial time he'll have even more than the promised 70 virgins panting for marraige. A new cult. What a treat!

I think I understand what "prepping" is - at least if a random walk through various archves is a decent guide. It may be unnecessary activity, but the milder forms seem to be relatively benign: you buy some stuff you'll need later anyway.

Even if it is inspired by needless paranoia, what's the harm? Let them buy whatever they like and put it wherever they choose. Isn't that the American advertiser-consumer ideal anyway - having more than you need and getting whatever you want because you want it?

If a troll has a fake email address of the general form WELOVE@TIME.BOMB, that is not conclusive evidence. Pro, do you have anything more solid to go on?

Pro, you may actually be correct. As of now, though, my money is on LL or an LL friend.

Shit, I thought I was responding to the thread on how it was clear who shut down Unk's. Very careless of me.

Here's another example of the diseased mind at work and why you should prep (from Loon) :

"I note how many Arabs are out shopping today..."
