Cannon EOS3 Grey Quality

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

Reciently there Cannon is ofering a grey version on the EOS3. Traditional grey version from the same factory is not a major concern. However this version is manufactured in China VS. Japan.

Is this savings worth it?

It's not true. All Canon gray models are made in the same factories as the regular imported cameras. The only difference is the way they are imported. Canon USA will even honor the international warranty.

Many camera dealers are offering canon and nikon cameras in kit form. Just look through any Shutter Bug magazine and you will see several companies offer this and other cameras in kit form.

Example is EOS3 body only USA $799.00

Or in Kit form EOS3 body with the folowing: cannon 28-85 lens + cheap tripod + flash for $674.00. The catch is they try to suck you into buying USA version by claiming the camera is made in China and it will take 6 weeks for delievery.

Too good to be true?

They're liars larry. Yes it is too good to be true. Find the seller you think provides the best price & then look at: http://www.photo.net/neighbor/one-subcategory?id=2 to see what is said about them in Photo.net's neighbor to neighbor forum.

There are several mail order camera dealers that are reputable. They go by the alphabet. Adorama, B&H Photo, Camera World. You can also add KEH, Calumet & precious few others.
