Maybe these sites will help a few people. I have them bookmarked and use them often.

Symantec virus encyclopedia, which will tell you all about any virus, including instructions on how to remove it. It also gives a list of attachment names, which you can possibly match up with your suspicious email attachments to tell if it’s a virus.

Symantec virus hoaxes, which will tell you if that silly virus alert email you received from your well-meaning friend is a hoax, which they generally are.
