Expire Your Cookies

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Anyone setting up a hotmail, or other free e-mail account, expire your cookies. To do this, begin to post a response. At the bottom is the Expire your cookies option. This will let you fill in the return address with each post, or add a new cookie later ( the option is on here somewhere). I suggested that Melissa use a hotmail addy on the forum, as her e-mail is out here 24/7.

Hotmail is still free. It keeps your internet service providers server name out of the picture. They limit your total account size, in various folders, and in individual e-mails. You will get spam it seems. (I think they have computer programs that spit out sequential, random addresses.) just delete the unkown e-mails, and still use good common sense - don't open attachments ( even from friends when not prediscussed ) from strangers.

If you sign up, many names you will attempt to get will be taken. Keep trying. Some variation will be available. Like for example 1949_moopups, moopups_1949, or surely 1949_moopups_1949 might fly (if it isn't too long). Keep trying, and get one that resembles part of your name or what you are known by here.

I have never gotten a virus (no promises tho'). Lately I haven't even been using my hotmail addy, in favor of Dew drops, as there has been so much mishief going on here.

Rick, out of curoisity, why was my scren name and that year chosen as your example??

Mitch I used you as an example because you are well known on the forum. I chose the year as something that might be close to your birth year, but I have no idea how close.

Inserting a cookie is shown as an option after one clicks submit (a new post).
