Camcorder to VCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I bought a Sony TRV17 Camcorder. The quality is fine. I want to save my video recorded to my PC. I used an IEEE 1394 card (Koutech) with the software Ulead VideoStudio 4.0 Basics SE. The quality was much worse than the original. Could anyone give me some advice on how to get good quality when I capture the video from my Cam to my PC? Perhaps my ultimate idea is to make what I record into VCD or DVD.

Hi, friend

I use the same card as you but I got the quality I think it is good. But I have another problem which is the captured video occupied too many space [ 3 minutes video occupied around 600 mb ] . so I still can¡¯t make them into vcd. If anyone know how to solve this problem, please teach me.

Thanks!

Hi, Lea. Could you tell me more in details? The OS, CPU and software, for example? I read some talks here saying that Ulead VideoStudio can not capture directly from DV to Mpeg1. But it seems that I did it .
