Geese flying overhead

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Hello all. I just walked out to get the mail and more geese than I have ever seen before flew past, going southeast. It was such an impressive sight that I couldn't come in until they had all flown by. I'm wondering where they are heading. In town we saw an occasional small flock, but never anything like this. Very interesting! I'm sure this is nothing new to some of you, but I'm sure finding the countrylife fascinating! Thanks for your time.

I just saw a huge flock flying over as well - there were hundreds of them! It was beautiful! It was more than I'd ever seen together. Wonder if it could have been the same flock?????

They are impressive, aren't they? We get hordes of geese flying overhead around here. They get pretty noisy sometimes. On occasion, they see my ducks and come join them for awhile.

My 2 little dogs go berserk when geese fly overhead. It is so funny watching them try to figure our where the sound is coming from! I love to see the geese walking with their babies through the park in Spring, too.

I wonder if that's related to the lack of geese people are commenting on here in southern California. There was an article in the paper yesterday about birdwatchers noticing a drastic decrease this year here.

They probably were headed for Cheyenne Bottoms near Great Bend. They stay there year round.
