On the local news tonight...

Owners of Afghan hounds are distressed to learn some fellow Americans are targeting Afghan hounds because of their name and because the breed is of Mid-East origen. The Afghan Hound Club of America is even considering show cancellation because the participants are worried people will come in and start shooting their dogs ... or the owners.

It seems there have been threats and incidents, especially against residents of many states who have Afghan (hound-lover) license plates or car stickers.

Maybe we better hide our blankets, too.

I remember when someone said that people buy dogs that resemble them [or something like that.] I looked at the Afghan hound as probably the dog that resembled me the most, tall, skinny, floppy hair that never laid right. The girl below me in an apartment building had one. She didn't look much like the dog, except for the floppy hair.

There's always someone looking for a target to hate. Maybe there aren't enough cockroaches in the US.
