I am a novice in it's truest form, but I am having a ball with my new G1. I am confused with all of the thread sizes for lenses and filters. I want to get a telephoto or 2x converter and am looking at the Lens Mate adapter with a 49mm thread. What are my options for lenses or converters with this adapter?

Is this a Contax G1 rangefinder, or a Canon G1 digital thingummy?
I suspect you mean the latter.
I also suspect that hardly anyone who reads this particular forum would even dream of using a front lens converter. Try Imaging-resource's Q&A forum.

You have three different choices for the adaapters, in at least two different filter ring sizes. From there you have a whole lot more choices. Tele adapters are easy. More critical is a good wide angle adapter.
