Congratulations, Gameboy.

I guess you missed it when I said it on #marp, Gameboy, so I decided to say it on this board. I stopped reading this board quite a while ago, but I thought I'd use it for this, anyway:

Congratulations. I think you have come up with a very nice format for a tournament. A bit confusing, yes, but a very novel idea for MARP. Regardless of whether it is like (of course!) how things work in the Olympics.

Congratulations, again. Nice job!

Ben Jos.

Yeah - I missed it - I've been inundated recently at a bad time with work I guess... school and everything else - I'm guessing I'm going at a much faster pace than I want to be.

Bleh, enough of me - I'd like to thank everyone who's participating in the olympiad... and I hope that everyone is having a lot of fun as well.

And, thank you, Ben Jos. :) GB9

Yes, idea is good ; but I have a reserve : too much games, too short period ... the consequence is that all players (like me) concentrate only on several games, and that's shortening competition (except for few games like kikcubic or 1943kai) : for example qualifs on turfmast or pc_rpam were top5, but there was only 4 players who uploaded a score !

Phil - since this is the First Olympiad, it's good for seeing how the Second Olympiad should be run :) Maybe a limit on the number of games a person can coordinate would be a good idea, maybe 2 or so. That would end up being less games in total (considering a lot of people are coordinating 4 or 5 or more).

I'm having fun with it, though (partly because there are games in there I enjoy playing).

I doubt there would be fewer games... just better games.

There would have definitely been more coordinators with, say, a 3- game limit.

I don't know what we'll do for Olympiad II... I don't think I'm going to do it until the summer of 2003 I guess... right now there's another thing I have to start worrying about. Elections. GB9
