For starters, this is not a prank post. I am in need of white shirt buttons for a doll dress I am crocheting. It calls for 900 buttons, and I only have about 500. I have searched all the local flea markets and scavanged all my friends button boxes, and have came to the conclusion that I might not get this thing finished. Does anyone have any old buttons they would part with? I am willing to bum, buy, borrow, beg, barter, or steal. E-mail me if anyone might have any available. Thanks.

Would you by any chance be crocheting the Button Bride by Paradise Costumes? My mother is good, hers look better than the pictures. They also sell kits for that dress.

Yes!! It is. I didn't know they had kits. I borrowed the pattern from a lady who place one in the county fair and when I saw it, I fell in love with her. She made the headpiece and bouquet out of buttons also. I dare to dream I can get enough buttons to make the dress, much less the rest in buttons.

Bear, I often buy white buttons for various projects. Last week I found small bags of white buttons at Walmart for a very good price. I can't remember exactly how much, but I seem to rmember somthing like 79 cents for a bag of about 100 buttons. They come in mixed colors or all white. They are in the fabric department. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone! Just goes to show you this forum is GREAT! I never dreamed of so many responses! Yes, I will try Walmart, if I can't find any anywhere else. I did check the Kit price by the manufacturer, and it was a little steep for me at this time. (Unemployed and making an attempt at farming) Let's see.... did I miss anyone's response? Oh, yeah, the pattern calls for white shirt buttons, and by the looks of the pattern, they are small buttons. I do not know what size.
