Poster You Love To Hate

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ILE Awards Nominations : One Thread

A mildly controversial category I suppose - posters you find yourself in constant disagreement, even irritation with, but the forum wouldn't be the same without them. Not posters you actually deeply dislike, please.

Fatnick, but I don't really hate him. It was funny what he said about me shagging woodland animals though. I expect he's a real hit in the common room.

FatNick, this is justified as I have to live with him.

NO MORE ANONYMITY ON THIS THREAD FROM NOW ON PLEASE! THANKS.

-- Tom (ebros@netcomuk.co.uk), November 15, 2001.

I don't really hate any of you despite how it may seem sometimes. I guess I disagree with Katie alot, and I suppose Tom and others who I forget aswell, but that doesn't really equate to hatred at all. On the contrary, I feel I know said people better as a result of arguments and am more comfortable on ILx in general as a result.

-- Ronan (ronan.fitzgerald6@mail.dcu.ie), November 15, 2001.

That was kind of what the category was meant to be talking about.

-- Tom (ebros@netcomuk.co.uk), November 15, 2001.

Dave Q don't half talk some rubbish, but he also Funny Man and kinda Essential.

Love to Hate as a title was asking for trouble.

-- Ronan (ronan.fitzgerald6@mail.dcu.ie), November 15, 2001.

I've clearly shyed away from putting any people I genuinely dislike. I did not think that that was the purpose of this thread at all. I picked Samantha because on several threads lately I've noticed her espousing viewpoints diametrically opposite to mine. No insult was intended.

-- kate (masonicboom@yahoo.co.uk), November 15, 2001.

nitsuh, ally

-- Sterling Clover (sterling_clover@yahoo.com), November 15, 2001.

Suzy and Momus (but I still love them).

-- Maria (silyl_aria@yahoo.com), November 15, 2001.

Not people you actually dislike isn't something that should need to be said - how do you "love to hate" someone who you actually truly dislike? Anyhow I only actually truly dislike two people, so this becomes easy since that leabes about 800 posters to choose from. I love to hate MOMUS!

-- Will (wjmckenzie@yahoo.com), November 16, 2001.

No, we don't -- I saw her on Friends once and am baffled by the whole concept. She's okay but she's not all that.

-- Nicole (ndwillett@home.com), November 16, 2001.

I find Toraneko a bit infuriating at times, largely because she seems to think about stuff in a radically different way than I do.

-- RickyT (boyofbadgers@yahoo.com), November 16, 2001.

no Nicole, Rachel Leigh Cook is all that, proved by Movie science.

-- chris (cbrown2@mmm.com), November 16, 2001.

I saw Helen Baxendale in some programme where she was an army officer or something. She was involved in a lesbian soft porn scene. Pretty fantastic.

-- Ronan (ronan.fitzgerald6@mail.dcu.ie), November 16, 2001.

Ronan, Patrick (calimero) and Suzy. I dislike Dave Q too much to count.

-- Robin Carmody (robin@elidor.freeserve.co.uk), November 16, 2001.

Sorry I can't nominate a soul for this one as I like you all! Gale

Just thinking, isn't "Poster You Love To Hate" an iffy title for the award. How does that work, and the award for Poster You Love To Hate goes to. Does that sound weird to anyone else? Perhaps its just me. Keep those nominations coming by the way.

If Ally doesn't win this I will wet myself.

In the interest of symmetry, Dave Q.

-- Tim (tfinney@bigpond.net.au), November 20, 2001.

And I can't believe Sterling hates me.

-- Nitsuh (nta@press.uchicago.edu), November 20, 2001.

Hi Kevin :) Why do you dislike this "OLD CROW?" Gale.

-- Gale Deslongchamps (gale@gosympatico.ca), November 20, 2001.

Okay, fine, I change my nomination to Ally.

-- Sterling Clover (sterling_clover@yahoo.com), November 21, 2001.

Too late for that shit, buddy. You have disrespected me, you have disrespected my family, and you have disrespected my culture: at least let me feel like this nomination is a reflection of the dark, dangerous, intriguing undercurrents of my personality.

-- Nitsuh (nta@press.uchicago.edu), November 21, 2001.

Me. I'm right annoying I am.

I'll say Ally too. Not because I hate her at all tho - Nitsuh just really seems to need our blessing before wetting his pants publically.
