Depends. When you talk politics, I tend to imagine something along the lines of an extra-long velour smoking jacket; when you're being diplomatic about tense arguments, I tend to imagine a big blue starry warlock-type thing; and when you're talking music, it's a dirty worn- down white terrycloth bathrobe with brown and yellow stains all down the front that everyone hopes are from coffee and mayonnaise, respectively.
