Music heard on Kabul radio after five years

KABUL: Music was broadcast over Kabul radio for the first time in five years on Tuesday after opposition forces captured the city from the hardline Islamic Taliban regime, residents said.

They said the opposition's first broadcast since they marched into the city around dawn on Tuesday began with a prayer from the Koran, the Muslim holy book.

Before any official announcements were made, a song by popular exiled Afghan singer Farhad Darya drifted out over the airwaves.

Well, I hope they don't listen to what passes for music today in America. Last night on the way home I heard something on the radio a young man was singing about wanting to be chained to a bed and a lot of other things even Mick Jagger didn't get around to putting into lyrics. My goodness, I wish they would get back to singing about drugs.

helen,

I've always been fond of the light shade of pink..rofl!

my mom came home from the "beauty parlor" once with a light pink tint to her tinted blond hair..we were very kind, but told her it had to go..she reamed her hairdresser a new orifice and demanded that it be fixed. Mom returned to normal..heh!

What happened to Helen's hair? How does hair turn blue? [I've seen it turn green from too much chlorine, but does it take extra effort to get blue? Is it complementary?]

Blue Hair isn't a color, Anita, it's a way of life -- to be imposed on everyone. Make ready.
