Elevator codes and regulations

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

Hello, I am an elevator inspector and I'd like to know if I can find elevator codes and regulations anywhere on the web . I ask this because I want to compare them with the ones in my country (Croatia). I am especially interested in parts about the inspection procedure. Thanks.

Hello, you will not find the US elevator code anywhere on the internet. It is sold through ASME for about $350. Your best bet is to find womeone and ask specific questions. You'll likely get a variety of answers. I am mainly an independent elevator engineer, but inspect a couple of hundred a year all over the US. Sorry

ASME Codes

Thanks for your posting, I am about to take the state Jourypersons test and needed some material to study with. Any suggestions besides the $350 purchase for a code book? Do you have any links that might help? Thanks again
