I had same problem with Sony D.H.R.1000 VCR (PAL) replacing the port female socket cured the problem. As I have two dv vcr's connected to my P.C I now use a four port hub-no more problems Regards from Ireland....John O'Reilly

I have the same problem with my PD150. It was working fine and one day the firewire stopped working - the rest of the camera still is AOK. I guess I will take it to get fixed and be charged $$$$$$...

I have the same problem with my PD100. Does anyone know where to get the replacement port? Any other advice, like how to replace the connector, is appreciated.
