Anyone familiar with aeroponics?(Greenhouses)

Recently I heard about a plant feeding technique called aeroponics. Apparently it utilizes nutrient solution misted on root structures with air instead of hydroponic flooding. Has anyone had experience with this technique?

Jay, I'm sure we saw this at the Epcot centre in Florida. At the Land exibit the plants were all suspended vertically with the root structure exposed and sprayed with timed mistings, water and nutrients, I guess. I think the plants were on some sort of conveyorbelt and they continued to move slowly into the jets everyso often. The food they grew went towards what they served in the restaurant there.

If memory serves me correct there is an experiment under way at U. of F., Gainsville where plants are grown on a continuous "train" the same as a large city dry cleaners retrival system, where the roots are dipped many times a day.

Thanks for the leads, I'm intrigued with the concept and want to try to incorporate it into our homestead produce and dandelion farming if its an effective alternative.
