Audio/sync problems burning VCD with nero

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I am using nero to burn Video CD's of camcorder tapes that are backed up as avi files. Problem is all the VCD's about half way through go out of sync and the picture freezes, and jumps scenes (the audio, plays back fine although out of sync), does anyone know what I am doing wrong and how to fix this?

This may not help, but I have seen AVI format DivX files freeze up and the problem is in the AVI file itself. Try playing your AVI file on a PC at the point of the freeze on the VCD and see if it looks OK on the PC or not. If not, the problem is in the AVI file. Sometimes you can demux/remux the AVI file with Virtual Dub and fix freezes.

You might also want to try burning at a lower speed. I had the out- of-sync audio problem too until I changed my burn speed to 8 or 12x.
