More than 9 multiple exposures (cannon rebel 2000)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I was going to try a technique with my rebel 2000 in which you take between 40-70 multiple exposures and get a wonderful layered effect. However, my camera can only take up to 9 multiple exposures before the frame advances... is there anyway I can control frame advancement manually or somehow trick the camera into letting me do more than 9 multiple exposures? thanks for the help!

On several of my EOS cameras I can reset the multiple exposure number before I get to 9. I don't have a Rebel, but I bet it works the same way.

What Puppy Face said. Set the camera for 9 multiple exposures and after 8 exposures reset it to 9 again. You can keep doing this indefinitly.

Until the battery runs out. If I remember correctly, the frame will advance when the battery is replaced.

Thanks for asking, Toby. I'll have to try that sometime.

Big drawback is that every time you dial back another batch of exposures you're touching the camera, risking blur. Shame there isn't a way around that. The Technical Backs for some of the high-end and older EOS cameras might have some computer interface, I suppose. Won't help an R2K user though.
