Quote of the day (for thinking & reflecting upon)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. (Robert A. Heinlein)

Am I the only one that doesn't know what conn a ship means?

Does "paddle your own boat" count? :o)

"Conn a Ship" means to be able to direct the movements of a ship by giving directions to the helmsman.

Forget me giving directions! I get my left and right mixed up...Hubby has to tell me all the time....righty tighty, lefty loosey! Or...No honey your other left...heeheehee! I guess that I can just work on the other virtues in the list! :~)!!!!! Thanks for the definition! :~)!

ahh, thank you I needed a new 'signature' line, here is my old one: "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." R.A. Heinlein
