greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Check out this website for your secret hobbit name....We did this on another forum and the dozens of posts of people introducing themsleves by their fanciful new names had me laughing out loud (and I need a good laugh these days!)

I don't get it. I hit enter and the lines are still all run together. That happened on a thread for recipes and the ingredients were all run together.

Well, Drogo and I are having a wonderful day with little Pimpernel, Samwise, and Ruby! This is cracking me up! I nearly choked on my coffee! Hugs to all, sincerely Myrtle! (P.S. My 15 year old is going to croak when he finds out he sounds like a zit!)(Come to think of it Samwise, my 13 year old is going to laugh about sounding like a part of the Walmart chain!)

I just finished reading the The Lord of the Rings Trilogy for about the fifth time. I can't wait for the movie to come out! We saw a trailer while at the movies last night watching, "K-PAX"

This holiday season is going to be great at the movies, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings within a month of each other.

Zelda Danderfluff of Willowbottom and what am I suppose to make of this one ????????

-- Patty {NY State} (fodfarms@slic.com), November 10, 2001.

Well, Zelda isn't toooo bad, but that danderfluff.....the dander is appropriate with all of your dogs! heeheeheehee! Now that Willowbottom is definitely interesting! You must be skinny! heeheehee!

-- Myrtle (davidl41@ipa.net), November 10, 2001.

Danderfluff , dander from the dogs , cats, sheep, goats, cows, horses is something trying to tell me to cut back ? Willow bottom does that mean I will loose weight and have a tiny hinny ???? I can hope can't I ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

-- Patty {NY State} (fodfarms@slic.com), November 10, 2001.

Camellia Sandybanks of Frogmorton here. Please, just call me Camellia ;>)

-- diane (gardiacaprines@yahoo.com), November 10, 2001.

No way Nan....er...I mean Myrtle! HOWDY! I see by your e-mail address that you have a David too. Is this such a coincidence or what? My husband's name is David so I have a Drogo Loamsdown of Deephallow as well! My other family members are Esmerelda and Prisca. The guinea Pig's name is Sancho. What a hoot!

-- Nancy in Maine (paintme61@yahoo.com), November 10, 2001.

Well, when I typed in Nancy for myself instead of Nan it came back with Pearl. Weird huh....two Drogo and Pearls....so I decided that I would put in what everyone calls me and be a Myrtle. So Myrt it is. Boy I am going to type in all my furry and feathery friends names around here and see what it says....:~)! Thanks Elizabeth...Or should I say Peony! This is so much fun!

-- Nan (davidl41@ipa.net), November 10, 2001.

Uh Oh! Rosie my cow and I have the same name....Myrtle! I will have to tell Drogo about that!

-- Nan (davidl41@ipa.net), November 10, 2001.

[making a curtsy] Pearl Boffin of Whitfurrows here . . .

It actually came out something different for the last name, and I really didn't like it, so I used the MEANING of my last name, and got Boffin -- much better!

-- Joy F [in So. Wisconsin] (CatFlunky@excite.com), November 10, 2001.

Orangeblossom Goldworthy of Michel Delving here - to my very great surprise. I'm much happier with my Hobbit name than I was with the Viking name of Faintheart. Come to think about it, I'm much more of a Hobbit than a Viking and quite happy with that state.

If any kids or adults out there in cyberland haven't already started reading the Harry Potter books, then get busy. You have a treat in store for you!

-- Carol I mean Orangeblossom - in Virginia (carollm@rockbridge.net), November 11, 2001.

lol This is sooo fun. My Hobbit name is Dora Knotwise of Michel Delving. lol Love it. You know, I'm 46 years old and have yet to read the Hobbit books. Guess Santa will just have to take care of that, eh? lol Iris

-- Iris (Sar_India@msn.com), November 11, 2001.

-- Cindy in KY (solidrockranch@msn.com), November 12, 2001.

Minto and Ruby Danderfluff here, our children are Olo, Berilac and Primula. Mother is Poppy Hardbottle, but I don't have the heart to tell her!
