Been a long time =)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

I haven't been around in a few years now, and just thought I'd stop back by and see how things were going back at MARP.

I see BBH is still holding the top spot, hehe. Have you been up there the entire time man? Damn... I remember when you and Joustgod would upload like 30+ recordings in a night and knock me down, hehe (well, Joustgod did that more if I recall).

Oh well, been a couple of years since I was up on top, and I don't have the time to put that much work into it again, hehe. I might post a score or two on a few games to get a few 1st place scores back though (yeah, after 2+ years away, I still get emailed with every score of mine you guys beat).

Any other old time MARP folks around still?

Well...actually I'm not as active on MARP as I used to be until 1 year ago (for a huge number of reasons, all of them not related with MARP and people in here), but I keep on updating with MAME releases, and still receive any of your posts, guys....

Hope to find the time to challenge you all again very soon....and welcome back, Angry !!!

Wow, Angry! What's up, man!

Yes, I've been in 1st for a looooooong time. Too long. :) So help me, I just can't stop uploading stuff! I do remember those days when we would do mass uploads to try to take 1st... ahh that was fun.

Good to have you back, and come visit #marp if you get the chance :)

Wow, does this bring back memories or what?

So, you're going to try to take BBH's top spot? Good. He needs some form of competition. No one's anywhere near him these days. ;)

Well, well, well...

Good to see you alive and kicking. ;-)

As for me, I've been somewhat lurking in the shadows around here. On ocassion, I'll submit a score or two if time permits. Otherwise, I'm just in "observation mode". Some of the newer MARPers may not be aware of the epic battles that used to go on here. Perhaps someone with time on their hands could do a brief write-up on the beginnings of MARP and its original players such as JSW, Krool, BBH, BeeJay, you and I to mention just a few.

Yes, I guess I was the original "mass uploader" in the early stages of MARP. As there were far fewer players, this was a safer and easier task. However, with so many players at MARP these days, it is a waste of time and will get you labeled as an "alphabet uploader" as most scores from that type of player get very few points thus making it a curious approach indeed.

I hope to see a score or two from you in the near future...your subject line in this post has a certain Led Zeppelin song running through my head. :)

I don't know if I count as old time MARP folk... I guess 2 1/2 years is 1/2 decent anyway... you make the call I guess...

It's always good to hear from the old time folk though, down the lines of Angry, Cicca, JoustGod, BBH, Barry, and so forth. :) GB9

And ME! But of course, I lost all interest in MAME back in early 98' when I couldn't figure out how to work DOS MAME...as I was so used to MAME32 and couldn't find any good updates...back in the good ol' days when Dave's site was the place to get roms...and here I stand today, thanks to a couple hook ups and accidentally reading classicgaming.com one day :) I wanna be an old time MARP folk. :(

Long time no see Angry. It's good to see you get back in touch with MARP. I'm still around... I don't submit anywhere near as much as I used during the good old days, but I still manage to sneak in the odd recording here and there and get on #marp once in a while. Why don't you submit a score for the olympiad, we could start rekindle some old rivalries :)
