Does the rack & pinion focus on the Ebony SW45 have any kind of lock, or is this necessary with this kind of focusing system?

My Ebony 45SU locks by tightening the appropriate knob on the left side, either front or back, depending on which standard you are moving. It's very straight-forward. You need to then loosen the left-hand knob to move the lens board or the ground glass. Movement is achieved with either one of the right-hand knobs. I am sure the SW45 locks and moves in a similar manner.

michael, yes the SW does lock in the manner described in the previous response. IT IS VERY SECURE!!
