Long Exposures with Elan 7 and Elan II

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I have a question about long exposures with the Elan 7 and Elan II. I am interested in buying one of the listed cameras but I am wondering how to take long expesures. I am used to using an AE-1P and there is a bulb selection and you can make your exposures as ling as you want. How do you achieve this with the Elan 7/II or can you at all?

Thanks

Rob

Same as the AE-1. Set the camera to manual and select bulb for the shutter speed. You will need a shutter release to do it right -- either the RC-1 or the RS-60E3.

Both cameras have automatic long exposure capabilities of up to 30 seconds, before you need to use bulb.

You can achieve both "B" and "T" mode on the Elan 7E

For "B" mode, use the RS-60E3 (cabled remote release).
For "T" mode, use the RC-1 (wireless remote release)

Refer to the EOSDOC page shown here.

you could try doing multiple 30 second exposures if you are feeling creative...
