Yesterday I emptied a large pot that had had two ornamental sweet potato vines growing in it. There were several huge tubers in the soil that I'd like to keep and use to start new vines next year. Does anyone know the best way to overwinter them? Since they're tubers I'm thinking they're like cannas which I put in damp peat moss; will this work?

I will be glad to see the answer to this. I am planning to plant some ornamental sweet potatoes next year. Are yours the yellow or purple or some other kind? A great place to ask this would be at gardenweb.com if no one here has an answer.
