Hi everybody,

I bought a used AE-1 Program Camera few days ago and after cleaning it for some hours, it's looking really *wonderfull* now. The camera is less than 15 years old but has hardly been used, and I like how good it has been treated. The only "problem" I am having with it, is the *squeak* noise it produces. It's not very loud (I've seen AE-1P Cameras whose noise was louder) and sometimes it dissapears for 2 or 3 shots, but it's still there in about 80% of cases and I simply don't like it.

Now, since I intend to keep this camera and to use it, I would like to send it to a professional repair service first. It would be great if they would clean it from inside (if needed) and address the squeak problem, too.

Anybody knows of such a professional service in Europe, preferably in Germany? Is the own Canon service still available for this kind of repair/maintenance?

I've found the official list of all Canon authorized service centers in Germany at the following URL:

I'll paste the list here, for the case the URL Canon decides to change the URL in the future. I've contacted the first service center and they told me they would repair the squeak problem for about 130,00 DM + taxes (80,00 USD incl. shipping), which I think is a good price.
