Bye Week (PurpleHaze)

Our bye week could not come at a better time. After getting destroyed in Tampa last week the time off will do us a lot of good. During this week the Vikings need to get away from each other and find that fire they have had for the past couple of years. Lately it seems that the players are more interested in fighting each other than fighting the other team. From Carter to Moss the team is in shambles and hopefully this week off will bring this team back together.

Through the first 7 weeks of the season the Vikings have been playing horrid football. The lone good game was the beating we put on the Packers. Besides that win the other two wins have been ugly at best.

Currently the biggest problem is the lack of a run game. Culpepper is our leading rusher by more than 100 yards. We all knew Culpepper would be a great running QB, but that was supposed to be out of design not necessity. Culpepper has been sacked 21 times already this season and all of that relates to the lack of the ground game. The offensive line is falling apart because they don't get the opportunity to explode on the defensive line. They have to stand all game long and it wears them out. One of our running backs has to step up in the second half of the season to get this turned around. Currently we sit in the back of the division above only the winless Lions. I have not lost faith, but give us all something to cheer about!
