Amateur detective Dupin and his pal the narrator in a Holmes/Watson precursor use the rationation method to solve the murders of two women in a closed, locked room. Using the clues given by people who heard the sounds and the scene of the crime Dupin pins the rap on an escaped gorilla. Voila.
