pickled onions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Back in the days of Y2K I browsed the forums and saw a recipe for pickled onions. I didn't print it and now wish I had. If anyone can remember it and send it I would be thankfull.

Bernard - one version can be found at this address: http://www.ichef.com/ichef-recipes/Preserves/Pickles/51814.html

or - you can go to google.com and type in "pickled onions" and find lots more versions. It is 5:30 AM right now, and for some reason pickled onions sound good!

Our pickled onions.. Salt thick slices of a sweet or yellow onion and let it macerate about an hour. Add lots of freshly ground black pepper, a tiny pinch of ground cloves, and apple cider vinegar. Keeps in the frige for quite a while.
