Big reason to arm the flight crew!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

There're air carriers in this country that do business transporting materials and supplies around the world. Fed Ex is a good example! I'm not familiar with exactly how they operate but I would quess they have a crew of 3 and that's about it. And they probably pour their own coffee. If a terrorist bent on destruction as like 9\11 could happen to stow away in the cargo area and make his was up front you have a whole new scenario. These transports are heavy and they pack the same momentum as a passenger jet and have the same fuel capacity. They don't have to fight their way into the cockpit thru passengers and a air marshall and I would bet the doors are unsecure also.

Boswell,

The liberals in this country have been trying for years to indoctrinate the masses that guns are evil. In many cases, they have succeeded.

The masses are only now getting a twenty- first century wake-up call as to the wisdom of the U.S. citizenry being a vast militia ready to defend the country. Hopefully many thousands more won't have to die before that reality is understood.

Guns are a good thing. Criminals hate it when you own them.

-- libs are idiots (moreinterpretation@ugly.com), October 30, 2001.

I and millions of gun owners in this country are armed to the teeth. Probably more than any other nation in the world. If I were a hostile country with invasion on my mind I would give that some thought! I find it hard however to bring myself to even think about protecting those that would rather stand defenseless.

ROTFLMAO!!

Tell us J, just how could this "vast militia" have stopped those airplanes from hitting the twin towers??

-- (conservatives are @ hairbrained. idiots), October 30, 2001.

Do you think those terrorist assholes would have taken over a plane if that "Vast Militia" had one guy with a handgun on the plane? I don't.

Apart from the liberal media guns are good. People here the word "gun" and freak out now. Even if its a good guy that has one. I say arm the guys and lets get the bullshit over. I'll make ya a bet. You come at me with a box cutter and I will have my gun. We would see a very different outcome than 9/11/01

"Do you think those terrorist assholes would have taken over a plane if that "Vast Militia" had one guy with a handgun on the plane?"

LOL! Hey dumbass, did it ever occur to your pea-sized brain that if you allow one citizen to carry a gun, you have to allow ALL of them to carry?

Liberals are not opposed to allowing the pilots to be armed or having armed guards on board. Allowing every idiot redneck conservative on the plane to carry a gun would be a surefire way to damn every single flight straight to hell!!

Bwaaahahahaahaha!!! What a bunch of simpletons you repugs are!!

"LOL! Hey dumbass, did it ever occur to your pea-sized brain that if you allow one citizen to carry a gun, you have to allow ALL of them to carry? "

DUMB you again display your liberal-brained ignorance. The FEDS can choose to allow whatever subset of the armed citizenry suits them to carry weapons on planes. In most states CCW holders must take a course on legal issues an handgun safety, as well as demonstrate their proficiency with a handgun to a state-licensed instructor. It would be easy for the Government to develop and mandate an additional course of training which citizens could choose to take if they wished to qualify for CCW on an aircraft. Then, the Feds could mandate that any air-qualified CCW permitee identify himself, present his weapon and ID for approval, and show that he is using acceptible frangible ammunition. The responsible Law Enforcement personnel could then decide who and how many persons would be allowed to carry concealed on any particular flight. Any disallowed or not needed people would be able to check their guns into a secure container that would be carried on and returned at the destination.

-- (DUMB@is.dumber), October 30, 2001.

LOL! Yeah, that's a REAL good idea, DUMB. Why don't we just create a whole new branch of government while we're at it! By the time we get finished paying all you gubmint-mandated rednecks to shoot each other, our taxes will go up another 20%.

I think letting the pilots carry guns and having 1 or 2 armed guards is sufficient. Let's not make another Federal case out of it. LOL, you Repugs are a real piece of work, always over-reacting and trying to put everything into the hands of bigger and bigger government. This is just another demonstration of your endless hypocrisy in action, favoring another gubmint-subsidized goon squad and then blaming it on liberals.

-- sheesh (gimmee@break.moron), October 30, 2001.

J, you were right about them liberals. I think after about two more months of anthrax, smallpox, and the threat of much worse they might swing the other way just a tad. It's totally amazing were their line of reasoning is headed. I think they should quit watching CNN and concentrate on a test pattern some morning and then a little common sense might drift back into view.

-- Boswell (fundown@thefarm.net), October 30, 2001.

And listen here you stupid sons of bitches, I never advocated passengers carrying guns on airliners. I started this thread only with the idea that crews should be armed. You stupid red diapered doper babies on the left give me a goddam pain in the ass sometimes, but tomorrow will be another day!

-- Boswell (fundown@thefarm.net), October 30, 2001.

"And listen here you stupid sons of bitches, I never advocated passengers carrying guns on airliners."

Yeah, but that stupid son of a bitch J did, and now you are agreeing with him. That makes you an equally stupid son of a bitch.

-- (J is a dumbfuck @ and. you agreed with him), October 30, 2001.

So brainwashed by the liberal media is he, that even after enemies of America killed thousands of citizens with nothing more than box cutters, the idiot still parrots the "guns are bad" propaganda.

Also, the infamous work of the public indoctrination system can easily be seen as the drone spews forth, "...if you allow one citizen to carry a gun, you have to allow ALL of them to carry", with nary a hint of knowledge of the Second Amendment to the Constitution residing in his addled brain.

-- J (Y2J@home.comm), October 30, 2001.

LOL!

Once again we see the paranoid idiot J (so insecure that he thinks guns are the only solution to all of the world's problems), reaffirming his delusion that allowing anyone who desires to bring guns onto airplanes to do so is actually a viable solution.

Typical repug stupidity, impulsively reacting in paranoid fashion, never bothering to think it through to the logical conclusion. Just goes to show you, you'll never get an idiot to understand common sense!

LMAO!

More contemporary liberal, anti-gun bullshit!

Most of us responsible gun owners don't go around shooting each other now so why do you think we would start doing so just because we were allowed to CCW in airports or on planes. Anyone unfortunate to get shot by myself or anyone else I know would most certainly deserve it. We have no desire to shoot anyone unless life-threatening circumstances call for it. Usually the mere presence of a gun in the hands of a citizen sends the crooks packing. In the case of a real terrorist we would probably need to use it.

-- Dumb is Dumber (and.so@are.liberals), October 31, 2001.

I never saw any thing signed by J that said he wanted passengers armed, only somebody that signed as Yawn and Dumb which is kind of stupid anyway. I dont know why you people have to jump around a board using anonymous names. I don't want anybody back there with a weapon except an air marshall and he better damn well keep it from being taken away.
