A dark subject. [Christian Reference]

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

A subject that I don't really want to talk about---but He asked me to do it anyhow. I don't have any idea who is supposed to "hear" this word but apparently somebody readin this ---does.

The causes are many and varied. Everything from immaturity in years to immaturity in mind. Abuse of your life's partner is an every increasing cancer that's working on destroying families. When a couple pledges before Almighty God they will love and honor their partner for the rest of their lives and then turn on'm---there just isn't any reason or excuse for that action. He won't dismiss it nor will He look upon it lightly!

I can't imagine this problem but I do know it happens. I've never beat on Lil Dumplin and wouldn't expect her to abuse me either. We are not anything special either--just ordinary people who made a committment almost 36 years ago and have abided by it. We've fought like dogs in the past but it never came to abuse--verbal OR physical.

If you are in an abusive relationship-take a few minutes and rethink why this is happenin and what can be done to eliminate it----totally. Ask for help if need be. Much help is available to those who seek it. LIfe is too short [or long] to live in this type of horror!

I am just coming out of an abusive relationship not so much physical but very emotional and it does get you if you let it. I was lucky and had lots of friend and family support. While I am not divorced yet since I left the house I feel so alive. Like I have been living in someone elses body for all these years and have finally come out. Thanks for your words of encouragement. God bless

Mindy, I am so glad you were able to get out of this situation. It will be better in the long run for you and your children. I am glad you are posting here and you have the thoughts, prayers and best wishes of many here on the forum.
